The Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice course provides students with the essential techniques of relaxation massage, incorporating neuromuscular techniques and sports massage. The course also incorporates massage business practices and in-house clinic hours.
The Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice is an entry level qualification to the massage industry, teaching the practical foundations of massage practice, allowing students to give future clients a full head-to-toe oiled massage.
Students will start with the history of massage, ethics and law in practice, and after establishing a thorough knowledge of the body, its structure and functions, students move into the more practical components of the course, including various massage techniques, knowledge of pain referral and trigger points, and evaluating common injuries and their prevention.
The in-house massage clinic, the finale of your qualification, allows students the opportunity to practice their techniques and implement their acquired skills in a friendly and secure and learning environment without the pressure of industry work experience.
Throughout this massage training program, you will learn the essential techniques of therapeutic relaxation massage including basic health assessment and treatment. You will also study sports massage, neuromuscular techniques (trigger point therapy) and small business management.
Your skills and knowledge will come together during your in-house clinical practicum, where you will gain the opportunity to practice on a vast array of clients including women, athletes and the elderly. Those working may use the massage qualification gained at the completion of this program:
